Employee Voluntary Benefits

Voluntary benefits products are an excellent way to provide your employees with the benefits they want without impacting your employee benefits budget. Offering Voluntary benefits can help round out your overall benefits program that can result in increased employee retention.

Voluntary benefit are offered on two different platforms:

Traditional Benefits

Traditional benefits are offered on a fully Voluntary basis (100% employee paid). These are:

    1. Life & AD&D
    2. Vision Care
    3. Medical
    4. Disability (STD or LTD)
    5. Dental
    6. Long Term Care

Benefit offerings and features under Voluntary plans are often identical to those offered under plans with non-contributory or contributory funding. There tend to be more restrictions and limitations under these plans compared to the non-contrib. or contrib. plans due to the tendency of adverse selection under these plans. Participation requirements are traditionally 25% under these plans for all benefits except Long Term Care (where a 10% minimum requirement can be offered).

Workplace Benefits

The Voluntary Workplace benefits often fill in the gaps that may lie in your overall employee benefits offerings of the traditional products. These are some of the products sold as Workplace Benefits:

    1. Cancer
    2. Group Legal
    3. Critical Illness
    4. Life (term and universal life)
    5. Accident
    6. Dental
    7. Short Term Disability
    8. Hospital Confinement and Indemnity

The features found in these benefits are typically:

    1. Portability
    2. Some health questions to qualify for coverage
    3. Very low minimum participation requirements (sometimes only four applications)

Employee Communication and Enrollment

The key for a successful voluntary program is a successful roll out to your employees. JayMar Insurance Agency works closely with you and the carriers to design clear and effective employee communication pieces. The benefits should be introduced to your employees using a multi-faceted approach.  Communication and enrollment materials will be conveniently placed throughout the workplace and distributed during employee meetings.  If meetings are not possible, then arrangements are made to distribute the materials to each employee by either home mailings or at the work location.  Timely follow up contacts are made to help assure that all of your employees respond to the enrollment process.

With some benefits, enrollment is even available through a telephonic enrollment system or an on-line enrollment system. JayMar Insurance Agency will work closely with you and your staff to assure a successful roll out and overall success of the program.
